An Experienced Advocate
Upon earning his law degree with honors from the University of Wisconsin Law School, Alan K. Hahn entered the U.S. Army's Judge Advocate General's Corps, eventually rising to the rank of Colonel.
While he served in the U.S. Army, Alan K. Hahn gained an understanding of large organization personnel systems and dynamics. He also learned how individuals and decision makers conduct themselves in time of stress, as well as issues involving discipline and organizational standards. This led him naturally into the practice of employment law.
Since 1995, he has worked in private practice, representing federal and other government employees, private sector employees, and private sector employers in employment law matters such as discrimination, wrongful termination, sexual harassment and workplace retaliation. He has experience in all legal venues where these cases are heard, including the Merit Systems Protection Board, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Civil Service boards. Mr. Hahn also represents clients in actions to retain or regain security clearances, and represents current and former service members in military law matters involving service records, discharges, courts-martial and other cases.
